Seen by many universities and employers as the best qualification to help prepare students for life after Level 3 study, EPQ equips students with independent study skills to help them excel in the real world.

Course Overview
Year 1

EPQ runs as a one year course only from September to May. Students begin by choosing a topic to study and planning their work. They complete research over a 6 month period and document the process from start to finish. On completion they either choose to submit a 5,000 word essay or a product or artifact such as a piece of art work, series of musical compositions or other project.

Year 2

EPQ is seen as one of the key supporting qualifications to university study, developing independence and research skills. It accompanies any vocational or academic study programme and is a useful tool whatever a student’s pathway.
