Business Studies (BTEC)

The principles of business that you will learn underpin all organisations in the UK economy managing people, money and resources across the range of industry sectors and jobs. 

Course Overview
Year 1

Unit 1: Exploring Business  Studying the purposes of different businesses, their structure, the effect of the external environment and how a business must be dynamic to survive.
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign. An opportunity to understand every step and process to be successful in the field of Marketing.

Year 2

Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance  This unit is about the importance of managing money as a individual and also the ability to keep businesses out of difficulty.

Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process   Investigation of the different online and offline processes used by businesses to plan the workforce through to advertising, selecting and finally offering the job to the successful candidate


Many students go on to study a BA Hons degree in business related subjects or into Higher Apprenticeships.


Accountants; marketing or recruitment specialists; financial advisors or management positions in a variety of areas and industries.

BTEC Business provides an excellent understanding of essential business and finance regardless of career choice.  You will also develop skills valued by employers in every sector.
